HFCOG Kids

We’re Excited to Meet You!

In HFCOG Kid Ministry, we’re passionate about partnering with families to invest in the lives of our little ones. Your kids will experience fun, age-specific programming in a safe environment from our committed team of staff and volunteers.

We offer programming for kids at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. Stop by the Kid’s Check-In area and our team will be glad to help you out and answer any questions you might have.

In addition to Sunday mornings, we offer a number of other kid’s events throughout the year.

Wonder Way

More than just nursery or toddler class, Wonder Way begins to lay the foundation with our children that God loves them. Wonder Way provides ministry to the youngest of our congregation beginning with Nursery, 2’s, 3’s & 4 year olds. The many volunteers and ministry team members are committed to providing ministry to both these little ones and their parents.

Our goal is to build on the child’s natural sense of wonder based on Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes that I can see the wonderful truths.” During these early years of learning each child wonders about God and this new relationship they have with Him. As leaders and parents we come alongside each child to begin the journey with Jesus. At Wonder Way we want preschoolers to take a first look at who God is and understand three basic truths:

  1. God made me.
  2. God loves me.
  3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
252 Main Street

252 Mainstreet is our ministry to elementary children grades K-4. It focuses on teaching the children biblical virtues that they might grow “in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God” (Luke 2:52). 252 Mainstreet takes place at 10:30 on Sunday mornings. It is a unique approach to teaching that is built around three basic truths:

  1. I need to make wise choices.
  2. I can trust God no matter what.
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated.

Each basic truth is amplified by a monthly key concept and systematically taught over a three year track.

Discovery Place is our special needs ministry. We provide opportunities for mentally and physically challenged friends to be involved with a group of their peers with whom they can identify and to whom they can relate. We provide a unique opportunity for these individuals to learn how God loves each one of us and how important we are as children of God. In doing so, this also allows the caregivers to become more involved in the church and to further their own spiritual growth. In addition to weekly Sunday morning programming, we offer Special Needs Respite days periodically throughout the year.

HOW WE’RE KEEPING YOU SAFE

Masks are not required at HFCOG. Parents may make the decision whether their children wear masks on our campus or go mask-free.  However, before attending, we ask families to evaluate the health of their kids by asking the following questions:
  1. Is there anyone in my family not feeling well today that cannot be attributed to a known medical cause?
  2. Has anyone in my family had a fever in the last 24 hours?
  3. Has anyone in my family tested positive for COVID in the past 14 days?
  4. Has anyone in my family had contact with someone in the past 14 days who has tested positive for COVID?
If you are unable to answer no to any of the questions above, please continue to care for your family at home.

OUR KIDMIN VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Without our amazing volunteers, HFCOGKids would not be possible. Each week, our volunteers hold babies, greet new families, sing and dance along with worship songs, teach Bible lessons, lead small groups, check in kids and prepare materials, all with the goal of showing God’s love to our kids and parents. We have a spot for you!

Families are given a child’s nametag and a matching parent tag when arriving. At the end of class, a security check-out is performed by comparing parent tags against child tags before releasing a child. We also follow strict guidelines for bathroom procedures.

All KidMin volunteers, teen and adults, go through a complete application process before serving in our classrooms. Adults have a thorough background check completed. At least two volunteers must be present in a classroom at all times.

We promote Preschool and Elementary kids in June after they have completed the school year.
